Position Overview

The Gallery Associate is a key front-of-house team member responsible for creating a welcoming and engaging
experience for visitors while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Ali Gray Gallery. This seasonal role
focuses on collector engagement, sales support, and operational assistance to ensure the gallery runs smoothly
and maintains a polished, professional environment. This position is ideal for someone with strong customer
service skills, familiarity with the Provincetown art community, and an interest in gallery management.

Key Responsibilities

Collector Engagement & Sales
 Greet visitors and provide a warm, welcoming gallery experience
 Speak knowledgeably about artists and available work
 Support and complete sales transactions with collectors
 Build positive relationships with collectors and visitors
 Represent the gallery professionally in all interactions

Operations & Gallery Support
 Support daily gallery operations to ensure a smooth and efficient environment
 Assist with opening and closing procedures
 Help maintain a clean, organized, and visually polished gallery space
 Provide support during exhibition installation and transitions
 Assist with basic administrative and organizational tasks as needed
 Help ensure necessary supplies and materials are stocked and accessible
Marketing & Community Engagement
 Support promotion of receptions, exhibitions, and special events
 Assist with the distribution of marketing materials to local partner organizations and businesses
 Help ensure strong visibility and attendance for gallery events

Qualifications
 Prior customer service, retail, or gallery experience preferred
 Familiarity with the Provincetown and Outer Cape art community strongly preferred
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills
 Friendly, professional, and comfortable engaging with the public
 Reliable, organized, and able to take direction while working independently
 Interest in art and gallery environments

Position Details
 Duration: May – October (seasonal)
 Schedule: Approximately 10–30 hours/week, with increased hours during peak season (June–August).
 Weekend and evening availability required
 Compensation to be negotiated
