Spinnaker Exhibit at CCS’ Hiebert Marine Laboratory in Provincetown
Meet Spinnaker, a humpback whale whose skeleton is the centerpiece of the exhibit. Her story is one of collaborative research and rescue – and about the challenges faced by whales in the modern world. The exhibit is open Monday to Friday, 1 – 4 pm, free admission, donations welcomed.
SEA Space Marine Discovery Center
237 Commercial Street (in Whaler’s Wharf)
Located just steps from the beach, SEA Space offers interactive exhibits and fun, guided activities for kids and adults. Open Monday to Friday, July & August, 11 am to 5 pm. Admission is free, donations appreciated.
CCS offers educational programs for adults and children in the summer. Junior MAER (Marine Animal Entanglement Response) teaches children how our team frees entangled whales and sea turtles. “Get to the Bottom Of It” allows participants to become junior marine biologists and study samples collected in the harbor. Guided Seal Walks are geared for all ages interested in viewing seal haul-outs in Truro. For details to the Marine Education page on our website.
CCS Kiosk, MacMillan Pier
Stop by our merchandise kiosk and information booth on Provincetown’s MacMillan Pier, opposite the whale watch boats. All sales support our research, rescue, and education. Open daily in the summer, weekends during the shoulder seasons.
